Fort Worth Escape Games - The Gallery

I had heard a few things before doing the room, and more after from others, so I really wasn't sure what to expect going in. I do like that I had something to do the whole time, but overall there just wasn't enough for a group our size, and some of the puzzles were a little frustrating. We breezed through the room and set a new record for them (by quite a bit). A part of that is likely the experience level of our group, but there were few things that we hadn't seen or done in another room before. Also, you cannot beat this location.

Price:$$$25 per person

Theme:The room has some neat parts to the story, but over all, the conclusion is a little hard to follow.

Quality:★★I am not quite sure about this one - things worked, but there are a few that were overly difficult because of what was used, and others look like they will be gross over time.

Difficulty:★★Overall, this was a pretty easy room. We had a hard time with a couple of things, but this was more struggling with the items than what we needed to do with them.

Fun:★★★I had fun with some puzzles, and other things were just frustrating. Thankfully, we had a large enough group that others could do those parts (it was nice to get to split up the puzzles where others did better with them than I would).

The Escape Game - Nashville

My mother-in-law and I came here while on vacation, and I'm very glad we had a chance to do so. I actually wish we'd done another while there, but there WILL be another chance for that. We had some gift cards, and Danielle was super great and helping us plan our visit, and accommodating once we were here. I am typically hit or miss about things with a music theme, and I was pleasantly surprised by this room and how well the story flowed. I'm looking forward to coming here again.

Price:$$$$32 per person

Theme:★★★★★This is a neat idea, and one of the more creative ideas behind music rooms I've done before. The decor was very well done and tied together the story.

Quality:★★★★Everything worked very well, once we used our heads and figured out the right things to do.

Difficulty:★★★Over all, there was a nice mix of puzzles of varying difficulty. Some of the puzzles took a bit more effort, and communication and teamwork were extra important.

Fun:★★★This was a great stop for us in Nashville, and we had fun with the group (my mother-in-law and two other gals who joined us). There was definitely enough for everyone, and I got to participate with some seriously talented people.

Countdown 2 Escape - Cold War Games

Our friend Angela had told us a few times to check this place out, and we finally had a good day to go where she was able to join us. With our small group of three, we had a fun time with the room. As usual, there were some familiar puzzles there, but we also had a few new things to play with and a few challenges to work through.

Price:$$$27.50 per person

Theme:★★★This was a fun idea, and some of the props were extra fun to play with along with the theme. We loved a couple of specific puzzles in here that I'm going to keep secret, but know that there are a couple of super fun ones.

Quality:★★★Things were in good shape, although a few items in the room seemed out of place and distracted us.

Difficulty:★★For the most part, we had an easy time with this, and even the clues we used nudged us along things that were easy to follow once we had a nudge.

Fun:★★★We had a good time together and are hoping to make it back to another room here soon, or maybe even get my family to go do this one.

1 Hour 2 Escape - Absolute Zero

We had been looking forward to the opening of this room and are glad we got it opened up - this was a very fun time and all of us were able to contribute and have something to do the whole time we were there. This room was busy, but we were able to each contribute and there was always something to do. Everyone felt accomplished when we were finished, and we manage to escape by the skin of our teeth.

Price:$$18.90 per person (used coupon from their website)

Theme:★★★This is neat and I loved how you communicated with the game master. Neat setup and fun theme.

Quality:★★★Being a new room, things were in great shape still, although there was a problem with a camera in the room for us.

Difficulty:★★★Some of the puzzles were so easy that we completely missed them, and others were much trickier. This was a good mix of the too, with plenty for everyone to work on.

Fun:★★★★★We went in expecting fun and were not disappointed - this is one of the more fun and engaging rooms they have here.

Conundrum - Totally Awesome 80s Escape

We are so happy they opened another location, and with such a fun room. We really had fun the whole way through, even though we bickered over a few things because we wanted to play with all the things that reminded us of our childhoods. I love how authentic the props are and some of the puzzles are super fun (and made me recall lots of memories).

Price:N/AN/A (testing)

Theme:★★★★So on point! Everything here seemed even more 1980s than I could have expected.

Quality:★★★★Everything was great and worked well, and I loved the creative use and placement of things.

Difficulty:★★Being a child of the 80s was helpful, but even our 90s bud was able to do these puzzles without that knowledge.

Fun:★★★★★So much fun! Seems repetitive in this post, but we just had a blast.

Mystery Room - Escape From Alcatraz

This was my first escape room in Austin, with two of my co-workers who were also in town for a training event. We made plans for the evening which included this escape room - what a great team-building opportunity for us!

Price:$$20 per person

Theme:★★★The idea here is great, and they did a good job in the space they had for the room.

Quality:★★I like how well everything worked, and how once we'd finished I understood how it was done much better. You can also tell how they might change the room each six months as well.

Difficulty:★★★Most of the puzzles weren't that hard to follow along, but some did take quite a bit of time.

Fun:★★We had fun with the group we were in, although we concentrated so hard on the puzzles that we had more fun talking together after about the experience than during (didn't share secrets with others, don't worry).
