The Escape Hunt Experience Dallas - Circuit Overload

On another lazy Sunday afternoon, we wanted out of the house and we got a few friends to join us for this escape room (and we are glad we came to this one!). The story on this one was fun, and the room really goes with the experience we expected. We loved so many of the props and the things that brought the room together. This was a really good experience, followed by dinner and drinks at a nearby bar.

Price:$$$$35 per person

Theme:★★★★There were so many neat areas in this room, and each really worked well - we loved the progression and the props really were quite fun.

Quality:★★★★This was in great shape and everything worked fine. Although a few things were a little tricky, this was probably by design so we embraced it.

Difficulty:★★The room itself was pretty easy for us, with some puzzles coming quickly and those that didn't were just a little tricky and quick fun.

Fun:★★★★★This was super fun - the theme was a big part of that, and we loved the movement through the experience. Looks like this was fun to create and we had a great time.

Escape Hunt Dallas - Lone Star

We were meeting a friend for dinner in the same parking lot and saw this escape room, so on the way out called and got Evan and I into a room right away (so much better than going home and doing chores!). They are very organized and their approach to the rooms is great and supportive of those inside. However, in this room (not another we've done since) we did just guess on a few things that we weren't logically able to figure out. And we used most of our clues on the same puzzle.

Price:$$$$35 per person

Theme:★★★★This isn't our first Dallas-themed room, but it is definitely the better of them. So many things come together and are built so well that it is a great time.

Quality:★★★This was very well built, although one of the puzzles was a little broken and that caused it to be easier to tell what to do.

Difficulty:★★★Most of the puzzles were fairly intuitive, though they did take time. A couple required a bit more effort and hints.

Fun:★★★We had fun, but have to admit that a couple of the puzzles were frustrating enough to make us lose hope of getting out.

Xcape Adventures - Steam Punk

My aunt, grandma, and cousin were in town for the weekend, and after returning from our cabin adventures we stopped by to visit. My aunt wanted to get out for a bit and mentioned my cousin might want to do an escape room, so we came here and had a good time. We've done a couple of other rooms here (Dr. Gene Etics and Game Over) and have a good time. We are sad to know that this room is being replaced - I think it might be my favorite of the ones we've done here.

Price:$$20 per person

Theme:★★★★This is a great theme and the decoration is very fun.

Quality:★★★★Everything worked extremely well (or, at least, when you read and follow the instructions...).

Difficulty:★★★This was about average in difficulty, but had enough to keep you thinking.

Fun:★★★★I LOVED some of the surprises in here - a lot of fun things as you go through and we laughed a lot.

Hochatown Escape Games - Cabin in the Woods

We spent Easter weekend in a cabin nearby, and my husband and I decided to see if there was an escape room - and were happy to find there is! While the kids went off for mini golf, some of us adults came here to enjoy the room, and had a great time. We were paired up with two other groups, both of which we saw again at dinner that night. This was a great addition to our trip and we'd gladly come back when we are in the area again.

Price:$$$22 per person

Theme:★★ This was very simple and the props were in line with what we expected, but some of it was a little plain.

Quality:★★★★In great shape and well maintained.

Difficulty:★★★There was a good mix of easy and hard things - we spent a good amount of time on some things where the whole group worked together.

Fun:★★★★We had a good time and liked the surprises that came our way.

Breakout Arlington - Museum Heist

We booked this location as a part of their grand opening event, and it was our second time out here. Still a neat location and easy to find, and we like the energy of the staff. The room itself was fun and there were some neat things inside that kept us engaged - a few great surprises that were quite fun. The only downside is both times we've been here, the group we were meeting with was a bit late because they parked on the other side of the mall and had to walk quite a bit. However, this is not an issue if you park at the right entrance (it is right next to an upstairs entrance).

Price:$$$26 per person

Theme:★★★At first, we weren't so sure, but eventually it made a lot more sense to us.

Quality:★★Things were pretty good, but there were a few things that could use repairs, and one puzzle that we were unable to fully complete without assistance because it was broken. But as they were able to help us bypass, this didn't deter from completing the game.

Difficulty:★★★This was the perfect amount of thinking for a Saturday night - not too hard, and not too easy.

Fun:★★★We had fun and really enjoyed the group we were paired with.
