Red Door Escape Room - Taken

We were out for dinner in the area and stopped by to see if any rooms were available since we had our red keys now, and we joined in on this one with a family who hadn't done a room before. This group was great for first timers - someone on their team took control of the walkie talkie and made this so much easier than it could have been otherwise. Also, they were definitely okay with trying multiple things until we got something right, instead of getting frustrated and giving up. I would have to say that they really made this room a positive and fun experience, and I'm glad we went with them.

Theme:★★★Since this was a repeat, this was exactly what was expected (once I recalled what it was).

Quality:★★★Well put together - when I compare to my review the first time I went, no finagling was needed, so I think they've made repairs on whatever that was.

Difficulty:★★★None of the puzzles were super hard, but there were several of them, and you do have to communicate well. We were fortunate that, even though we didn't know part of the group, every was good about sharing things.

Fun:★★★This was much less frustrating than last go around, although I did spend a bit of time just sitting there waiting for others.

"Great, let's do this one that starts in 30 minutes and takes 25 minutes to drive to."
"Okay, yes please."
And this conversation brought us in for a great escape room experience :)

Theme:★★★The room was good, but not quite what I expected given the name of the room. However, based on the story, it was spot on.

Quality:★★★★There were some broken areas from people clearly doing something they weren't supposed to in previous attempts, but these seem to have been repaired and warning stickers placed on some of the areas to prevent future damage (hopefully).

Difficulty:★★★★This was a good mix of easy puzzles, well-placed clues, and some trickier things.

Fun:★★★★We were on quite a roll and having a great time with this one. There were definitely puzzles in here that catered to each of our skill sets.

The four of us have done rooms here on our own, but wanted to get to do one together so signed up for this one. We are a fun team, and thankfully we are good at communicating with each other - this was key or we definitely wouldn't have succeeded (this is true for many escape rooms, but extra helpful in this one). A little patience was also beneficial here, as somethings threw us off track a few times and we had to regroup to get back on task.

Price:$$$28 per person

Theme:★★★This was on par for what we expected, if a little sterile. We also don't know any place that would be quite like this, but it was fun anyways.

Quality:★★★This was in good shape and we were easily able to use everything we needed, although we had to finagle one of the items to use it so that killed some time.

Difficulty:★★★★This was tricky - communication is super important!

Fun:★★★There was a fine line between fun and frustrating...but since we got out it was more fun that it would have been if we hadn't.

Red Door Escape Room - Once Upon a Time

This was so much fun - the puzzles were good, the decor was great, and the general experience was one of the best. We've never done a room side by side with another team, and it was neat to here where they were in the puzzles (we were ahead most of the time). It was also neat that our group of two got out and their group of eight did not. Makes you feel kinda awesome when it is over. The feelings of competition made the completion of puzzles seem more urgent and made us nervous when we heard the other team through the ducts.

Theme:★★★★This was fun - so many things to remind you of so many fairy tales.

Quality:★★This was fairly well done, but there were some issues with a couple of puzzles that took longer to do because things "stuck" together a bit.

Difficulty:★★This was fairly simple, although we did use a couple of hints because we completely overlooked one of the puzzles and got stuck.

Fun:★★★★★This was very fun - a great theme really drove this, as well as hearing the team in the room next to us who were doing the same room (different solutions to puzzles). Also, there was a surprise near the end that I absolutely loved (but keeping it quite even though not a puzzle so that if you go you can experience the fun yourself).
